Jeffrey Veen’s talk, Designing for Big Data. Lots of stuff you’ll be familiar with if if you know Edward Tufte’s work, and I would have liked a nod to Hans Rosling rather than calling his software a “Google product” (even if they do own it now), but it’s a really good aggregation and distillation of some excellent data visualization thoughts and examples.
Thanks to What Do I Know, I watched this amazing presentation by Dick Hardt on Identity 2.0 a couple days ago. At the very end, he credits Lawrence Lessig with inspiring his presentation style. Coincidentally (?), Jason Kottke mentioned Lessig's powerful PowerPoint mojo, so I had to have a look around. Turns out there's a whole blog dedicated to presentations, with a whole post on the "Lessig Method" of presentation. Since everything converges, the post references Hardt's talk. And Lessig's presentation? Also amazing.
